|Description:||Economic luncheon and workshop cosponsored by the Houston Branch, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas; the University of Houston – Victoria School of Business; the UHV Small Business Development Center; and the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce.The luncheon speaker will be Jesse Thompson, a business economist with the Houston Branch, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. His topic will be “Texas and the Economic Recovery – Update and Outlook for the Gulf Coast Region.” The presentation will cover regional and national economic barometers, including developments in both upstream and downstream energy, as well as manufacturing, Texas exports, housing and construction, and the local impact of global economic risks. In addition, representatives from UHV and from the Federal Reserve’s community development and economic education departments will provide an overview of resources available to support business and economic development in the Gulf Coast Region. Complimentary lunch is included. Seating is limited, register by 8/22/2011.|
